Nuclear and other applicable facilities require perpetual monitoring to ensure that workers and the public are provided with timely warning of any radiological hazard. NATS will work with you to configure an environmental radiation monitoring network that meets your needs, whether it be marine sensors, mobile stations, airborne systems, plume tracking, satellite or other seamless communications, or central command station requirements.
Sample National Early Warning System configuration:
- Surface gamma radiation sensors
- Integrated marine/ocean based radiation sensors
- Fixed ocean based sensors for gamma radiation sensing along the coast
- Portable marine sensors that can be deployed from a boat/ship to a depth of 80 meters
- Alpha/Beta particulate sensors suspended in air
- Particulate/Noble gas and radioactive iodine measurements as a result of releases from nuclear reactors in the area
- Neutron measurement and high resolution gamma spectrometry portable inspection tools
- Necessary meteorological instruments to weigh in parameters such as wind speed, wind direction, humidity, etc.
- Mobile, man portable and access control systems
- Command and control station
