The Asian subsidiary of NATS Inc. of Middletown, CT USA, NATS Asia Sdn Bhd. along with its Singapore Subsidiary Advanced Radiation Measurements Systems Pvt. Ltd. (ARMS) participated in the 5th Singapore International Symposium On Protection Against Toxic Substances (SISPAT). The Symposium will be held from 27th November to 1st December 2006 at the Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore.
The conference was held in conjunction with the 1st International Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosives Operations Conference (ICOC) aimed to create an integrated Operations-Technical (Ops-Tech) Forum to bring together military and industry scientists, military planners, first responders and HAZMAT specialists.
The meeting brought together military planners from over 30 countries from the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. It was intended foster stronger cohesion and understanding between the armed forces, and to exchange knowledge and experiences on operational issues concerning the defense against unconventional CBRNE threats.
The resultant integrated Ops-Tech Forum of the Joint SISPAT – ICOC was recognized as an unique model for enhancing closer interactions between scientists and operations managers to realize the power of science and technology in enhancing the ability of first responders in mitigating unconventional threats.
NATS the booth demonstrating sensors for Radiation and toxic gases was visited by many Users from the area and beyond. Regional Managers of NATS Inc. from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia were present during the symposium/exhibition.
