NATS Inc. (North American Technical Services) of Middletown, CT, USA, participated in ASIS International Middle East Security Conference and Exhibition on the 4th to 6th of December, 2006. The meeting and exhibition were inaugurated by H.H. Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The United States Ambassador to Bahrain was also present. The event, a collaboration between ASIS-International Middle East Region, Bahrain Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BCEB) and Elegant Services Group, was held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
The choice of Bahrain as host for this significant event reflects the Kingdom’s long-established international reputation for safety and security and its historical ties with ASIS-International Middle East Region, which, with more than 33,000 members and 250 chapters worldwide, is the largest international organization for professionals responsible for security. This year’s annual conference sees the renewal of a tradition whereby ASIS-International Middle East Region held this event in Bahrain for 20 consecutive years until 2000.
The Conference featured four world-class keynote speakers among others, multiple professional security workshops, over 50 companies displayed the latest developments in security equipment and state-of-the-art technologies. This year’s conference theme was “Security Solutions for a Flourishing Economy.” The conference was also organized to enhance the capabilities of the GCC Region and leading companies to protect their infrastructures, information systems, proprietary information and intellectual property for the perpetuation of successful global competition and sustained profitability.
The event provided a vital opportunity for those concerned with security to better understand the current issues and to identify solutions. Specialized scientific lectures and workshops on the latest developments in the field of security were presented by international researchers and distinguished speakers.
